Week 191 Recipe

For our Recipe this week we would like to see
Mostly Words
Often a sentiment seems unnecessary and at other times the words are all you need!
This is one of those times!
See what we have made for you this week!

This is a really simple idea. Scrabble letters downloaded from the internet and a computer generated sentiment. The letters were cut out by hand and added to the black backdrop.
Many thanks for all those who sent me good wishes for my holiday last week. I had a wonderful time in Guernsey, Although it was my first visit there, I'm sure it won't be my last.

Uniko Studio: Snowflakes & Clearly Besotted Merry Word dies
The 'Christmas' sentiment is also from CBS
The 'Merry' is die-cut from shiny purple foil card and the snowflakes from
DCWV Glitter card. I've added a few gems and stars for some added interest too.

Made with a very useful new Stampin Up set called Endless Wishes:  multiple sentiments in two sizes and assorted sizes of snowflakes.  I've added tiny blue pearl gems to the snowflakes.

As always we each have made additional examples for the challenge which you will find on our personal blogs.
Please pop over to see us there as we love to  have you visit us too!

Week 190 Theme

For our theme this week we have chosen
FACE THE MUSIC AND DANCE
For this your card can have any reference to either music or dancing in some form.
It should give you plenty of scope to let your imaginations run!

Here are the examples from us!

Impression Obsession stamp coloured with Copics.  I much prefer images like this stamped in brown, and have used the same for the SU sentiment.  Edge of card embossed using a portion of an 8" folder

You Rock die-cut sentiment was a lucky freebie ages ago from
Dies to Die for and I've been hanging on to it waiting for the ideal
opportunity to use it ... and here it is.
The guitar has been in my stash for about 10 years!
Can't remember where it's from it's so old.
For a bit of dazzle ... I've added some nail heads from Josy Rose.

Here is a simple card made with a stamp from Docrafts, coloured with Mirage Pens.
I loved reading Roald Dahl stories to my kids in school when I was teaching and I'm sure many of your will recognise Willy Wonka from Quentin Blake's illustrations. However, to me he looks as though he is dancing!
The sentiment was computer generated.
The die cuts are Lil Inker and Dienamics with a little of  Couture Creation's Adagio embossing folder for added interest.

As ever there are more illustrations for this challenge on our personal blogs and we would love you to pop by and see those too!

Have fun with this one... Chrissie will be in Guernsey on hols this week so may not have so much chance to pop by with comments, but will try her best.
Enjoy!

ShowCASe Week 188

We were delighted with some of the super entries for this unusual colour combo of Chocolate Mint and here are our ShowCASe choices for this week.

What a super simple design, with the sweetest bunny!

We would have liked to have ShowCASed Maria's card number 26 from last week's link up, but her card could not be copied from Flickr!
Well done Maria.

We never fail to be inspired by Birgit's wonderful designs. This is another beauty!

This image looks amazing in these colours. Great stamping Nic!

Week 189 One Layer Challenge

As mentioned last week we are delighted to have
as our sponsor once more this month and we are very grateful for their support.
If you haven't visited the web shop do take a look as there are some amazing images.

Our challenge this week is back to one layer once more and we have the theme of
BEVERAGES
Any beverage will do; I wonder if our choices say something about us!!
See what we came up with.
This card is me to a T!
The image is from Bugaboo, coloured with Mirage pens and accompanied by a computer generated sentiment in !Paul Maul font.

As you have no doubt guessed I'm besotted with Clearly Besotted
products and even more so when they are on offer as this one was recently.
It's called Warm Wishes.

I started out by running an MFT pierced rectangle die
through my Big Shot with a texture plate just to get an impression and add
a little interest to the otherwise plain card blank. Then a little bit of dazzle
with gems and twine from my stash to finish off.
This sentiment, from Acid Drops and What-Nots, makes me laugh every time I see it.  I've teamed it with one of my very early stamp purchases, from a firm called Rubber Romance (promise me you won't Google that without adding stamps into the search!!) and added a stencilled background.

As ever, please visit the designer's blogs... there are more beverage cards to be seen on each of them and we love to have comments from you too!

Week 188 Colour Challenge

For our
Colour Challenge
this month we have a yummy combination of colours!
CHOCOLATE MINT
We don't mind the addition of neutral colours or metallics, but would like you to keep essentially to the colours specified.
We are glad to welcome back
Uniko Studio
as our sponsor this month.

Thank you so much Bev!

Here are the cards from us this week!

For this card I've kept it fairly simple but added a 2 layer dragonfly
die-cut from Clearly Besotted. The top layer is a luxurious chocolate
glitter card with a mint green layer of vellum beneath.
The sentiment is also Clearly besotted with sequins and pearls to finish.

Peppermint Aero girl!  Julie Nutting stamp paper pieced from an old Basic Grey pad with Simon Says sentiment.  No idea who made the DP along the right hand side but it should have been called Aero Bar if it wasn't!

Milk chocolate here!
This is part of a stamp from Impression Obsession. In fact the stamp has a line of 6 trees, but I simply masked off three of them before inking with Versamark and embossing in gold.
It was gently coloured with Mirage alcohol pens and then twinkled with a little clear Wink of Stella. The embossing folder is from Sizzix.

Do visit our personal blogs, the links are above our cards... we all try to visit EVERYONE who enters our challenges and reciprocal visits are really appreciated. There is usually more inspiration to be found there for each challenge too!

Anyone for an After Eight?
(For those not resident in the UK... After Eight are very popular chocolate mints!!!)

Hopefully you won't consume too many choccies during the course of this challenge!
